New circulars allow arghileh to be served, shuttered businesses to reopen

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh issued circulars no. 49 and 50 of 2021 on Monday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.اضافة اعلان

The circulars were issued to regulate the work of restaurants, cafes, and hotels licensed to serve arghileh, and impose fines for establishments that violate public safety protocols and COVID-19 health measures. 

Businesses will be fined JD1,000, JD3,000, and JD5,000 for their first, second, and third infractions respectively. In the event of a fourth violation, the establishments will be closed.

Furthermore, Circular No. 50 establishes provisions for shuttered establishments to reopen “if the violation is rectified”, Petra reported.
