AMMAN — The Jordanian Transparency Center (JTC) held a
meeting on Friday at the Social Security Corporation (SSC), titled “Social
security: Reality and hope”, to discuss the amended draft Social Security Law,
according to a local media outlet.

Director-General Hazem Rahhaleh said that the corporation prioritizes spreading
awareness about the importance of social protection among Jordanians, and
promoting the interests of its subscribers through its policies, strategies,
and plans.
In the course of
46 such meetings across the Kingdom’s governorates, SSC has taken into
consideration civil society organizations’ opinions, suggestions, and
observations concerning the amendments to the Social Security Law, he said.

Rahahleh noted
that these meetings have had a positive impact on the draft law, and that the
amendments will ensure greater justice for subscribers and deal with certain
gaps in the insurance system.
SSC “will spare
no effort” to enhance social protection for all its subscribers, he stressed,
adding that the amended bill strengthens the social protection system in Jordan
and provides better security for the most vulnerable groups.
