Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said Tuesday that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and damage to facilities at Ras Laffan had disrupted a significant portion of Qatar’s exports, noting that the country accounts for about one-fifth of global liquefied natural gas trade, making any developments affecting it likely to impact markets and consumers.اضافة اعلان

He said Qatar and the region had faced exceptional circumstances that once again demonstrated the resilience of state institutions. He stressed that the national economy had confronted the current crisis with strength and maintained a high growth rate in 2025.

The Emir said policies adopted by Qatar before the crisis had enabled the country to absorb its repercussions so far, stressing that Qatar would emerge from the crisis more resilient and better able to adapt to global changes.

He noted that Qatar had contributed to efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and opening maritime corridors, adding that Qatar had been subjected to an attack on its territory by Iran, in what he described as a blatant violation of its sovereignty.
