In the presence of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti, His Majesty listened to a briefing by Brig. Gen. Suleiman Al-Hamaideh, Director of Air Defense, on the readiness of the directorate’s units.

The briefing also covered plans to enhance the operations of air defense units, including the introduction of missile systems, advanced counter-drone systems, and medium-range warning radars.

The exercise simulated a defensive battle, engaging various aerial targets and intercepting drones, with the participation of command, control, and early warning units.

The purpose of the exercise was to test the readiness of the Royal Field Air Defense units and their efficiency in planning and execution under different operational circumstances, in line with efforts to keep pace with technological advancements in modern warfare.

His Majesty also toured an exhibition showcasing modern weapons and equipment used in air defense.

The King commended the efficiency of the units participating in the exercise, stressing the importance of continued modernization and development to enhance readiness.

Since the beginning of 2024, Royal Field Air Defense units have intercepted more than 1,580 drones in joint missions with the Border Guard Forces.
