AMMAN —
King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement with the European Society for
Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology in the field of joint education, training,
and research in radiation oncology, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The cooperation efforts aim to enhance
Jordanian medical competencies in oncology by integrating optimal treatment
technologies for cancer patients into the Kingdom’s medical system.
This cooperation opportunity, Mansour said, will raise the bar for cancer treatment and scientific research in Jordan and the Arab region.
Speaking at the signing ceremony,
KHCC Director General Assem Mansour said the agreement allows the center's
physicians to acquire new expertise in tumor treatment.
The first activity held under the agreement
was an intensive educational course on the treatment of head and neck tumors,
he noted. The agreement also covers additional educational courses in the
Kingdom on an annual basis, focusing on various specialties for treatment of
cancer tumors.
This cooperation opportunity, Mansour said,
will raise the bar for cancer treatment and scientific research in Jordan and
the Arab region.
