The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) published its statistical report for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025 on its official website Thursday, detailing the performance of the telecommunications sector.اضافة اعلان

Fixed-Line Voice Services
According to the report, the total number of fixed-line voice service subscribers reached 477,200 in Q4 2025, a 1.8% decrease compared to approximately 485,900 in Q4 2024. The residential sector accounted for 67% of the total, while the commercial sector made up 33%.

Fixed-line traffic saw a significant drop of 30%, recording 7.9 million minutes compared to 11.3 million in Q4 2024. Local calls accounted for 82% of this traffic, while international calls represented 18%.

Mobile and Broadband Services
Mobile broadband subscriptions grew by 5.7%, reaching 8.5 million compared to 8.04 million in late 2024. Prepaid subscriptions dominated at 63%, with postpaid at 37%. Notably, 80% of these were integrated "voice and data" plans, while 20% were data-only.

Mobile voice traffic reached approximately 6.9 billion minutes, with 97% consisting of local calls and 3% international. Conversely, SMS messaging experienced a sharp decline of 42.5%, falling to 331 million messages compared to 575.9 million in the same period of 2024.

Penetration Rates and Data Usage
The mobile subscription penetration rate reached 71.5% of the total population by the end of 2025. When filtered for the population aged 15 and above, the penetration rate hit 110%.

Mobile data consumption surged by 23.7%, totaling 813.9 million GB in Q4 2025. Fixed broadband data usage also grew by 23.1%, reaching 1.6 billion GB, with the average monthly data usage per subscription rising to 662 GB.

Fiber and 5G Growth
Fixed broadband subscriptions reached 828,500, with a penetration rate of 33.3% among households. Fiber-optic technology now dominates this sector, accounting for 79% of subscriptions (652,200 subscribers), while FBWA and xDSL technologies accounted for 16% and 5%, respectively.

The report highlighted a massive surge in 5G mobile subscriptions, which reached 320,700 by the end of 2025—a staggering 184% growth compared to Q4 2024, where subscriptions stood at only 112,900.

Finally, leased line services grew by 7.5%, reaching 25,900 subscriptions by the end of the year.
