Jordan’s tourism revenue hits JD3 billion, 50% growth in 2023

AMMAN Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Al-Qaisi revealed that Jordan's tourism revenue had reached JD3 billion by the end of July this year, marking a 50 percent growth compared to the same period in 2022. He also noted that the visitor count for the country from the beginning of 2023 until July's conclusion had reached 3.72 million, reflecting a growth rate of 51 percent from the previous year.اضافة اعلان

These remarks came during his address in a dialogue session focused on Jordan’s global appeal as part of a series on updates, that Jordans boasts a distinct geographical advantage in terms of tourism. He added that Jordan's unique climatic diversity throughout the year sets it apart, with a multitude of climates within its borders. Qaisi highlighted that the country holds a staggering 15,000 registered archaeological sites, including 40 of global prominence, Ammon News reported.

Jordan as an enduring tourist destination
Underscoring his point, Al-Qaisi stressed that "success in the tourism sector is not merely about tourists visiting once, but about fostering repeat visits and establishing Jordan as an enduring tourist destination."

Furthermore, he revealed a significant and noteworthy surge in visitor numbers to tourist sites within specific regions of Jordan, with percentages soaring from 83 to an impressive 600 percent. Among these areas, Qaisi pointed out the Mukawir region.
