Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated on Monday that Iran is not currently holding talks with the United States, but discussions are taking place with the Sultanate of Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Baghaei added that Iran is working with Oman to establish a temporary safe maritime passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
He noted, however, that reaching an agreement with Oman on the passage is not sufficient to reopen the strait, as the situation will remain unchanged as long as American "aggression" continues.
Regarding reports about preparations for talks with the United States, the spokesperson stated that there is no plan to receive a delegation or send an Iranian delegation during "these days."
U.S. President Donald Trump had previously announced that talks with Iran would begin on Monday after he suspended planned strikes against the country, conditioning the pause on reaching a swift agreement while refraining from setting a definitive deadline.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One late Sunday evening, Trump said: "Obviously, they don't want to get attacked. They knew how big the attack was because they saw it forming. Right now, what we're doing is talking to them in negotiations. It starts tomorrow (Monday) afternoon."
Trump did not provide details on where the talks would take place or who would participate.
