His Majesty King Abdullah II offered his condolences on Monday over the passing of retired paratrooper Major Sameeh Jankat, during a visit to the late officer's family home in Amman.

His Majesty expressed his deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of the deceased, praying that Almighty God grant him vast mercy and rest his soul in paradise.
His Majesty the King had previously mourned the late Jankat on the X platform, writing: "May God have mercy on retired paratrooper Major Sameeh Jankat. We have lost a dear comrade-in-arms, whom I knew as a polite friend, of good conduct and noble character. He was an exemplar of love, loyalty, and honesty, and one of the finest to serve in the ranks of our Armed Forces, training generations of this nation's soldiers."
The late Major Jankat led the paratrooper team in the Special Forces and supervised freefall jump training for His Majesty the King and several Their Royal Highnesses the Princes.
