AMMAN — Jordan recorded 17,550 new COVID-19 cases
and 31 new deaths on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 13,508 and the
total number of cases to 1,468,360.
The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 5,810 cases, while Zarqa
recorded 3,516 cases. Irbid registered 2,577 cases, Balqa 1,283 cases,
Karak recorded 992 cases, Jerash recorded 630 cases, and Tafileh
recorded 286 cases. Madaba registered 327 cases, Aqaba 374, Ramtha 453,
and Ajloun 290.
The ministry said in a statement that 168
hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from
hospitals, while 298 new patients were admitted.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in
the Kingdom stands at around 189,827 according to the ministry. Out of 65,199 COVID-19 tests
conducted Monday, 26.92 percent of them came back positive.
