Eight Islamic countries, including Jordan, on Sunday condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
This came in a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. The statement said: “These actions threaten to escalate tensions and undermine efforts to promote calm and restore stability, at a time when regional and international parties are working together to advance the second phase of the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump and to implement UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803.”

The statement affirmed that Israel’s repeated violations pose a direct threat to the political process and hinder efforts to create a suitable environment for transitioning to a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip, both in terms of security and humanitarian conditions.
It noted that full commitment to the second phase of Trump’s peace plan is essential for its success.
The ministers also called on all parties to fully meet their responsibilities and exercise maximum restraint during this critical period, in accordance with international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The statement stressed the need to preserve and sustain the ceasefire in order to promote a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of their state, to avoid any actions that could undermine the current process, and to create favorable conditions for moving forward with early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
