The Jordan Tourism Board has confirmed that the tourism sector is beginning to show gradual signs of recovery, supported by a package of government measures and promotional programs implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and tourism-sector partners.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the board said these efforts have led to improved booking rates and hotel occupancy levels, alongside the opening and operation of several new tourism projects, most notably the Dead Sea Corniche Tourism Project, the Crowne Plaza Petra, Yarmouk Lodge, and Tal Al-Rumman Hotel.
The board added that the Port of Aqaba recently welcomed its first cruise ship in some time, a development that reflects renewed confidence in maritime tourism and strengthens Aqaba’s position as a key destination on the regional tourism map.
It also noted that the “Urdunna Jannah” (Jordan Is Heaven) program continues to support domestic tourism by organizing subsidized trips to various tourist, archaeological, and natural attractions across the Kingdom, helping stimulate local economies and support the sustainability of tourism businesses.
According to the board, Jordan is preparing to launch its summer tourism season through a series of cultural, artistic, and entertainment events. The resumption of low-cost airline flights beginning on July 1 is expected to increase visitor numbers, particularly from European markets.
The board further emphasized that, in cooperation with relevant authorities, it has strengthened its presence at border crossings and major entry points into the Kingdom to promote Jordan’s tourism product, introduce visitors to the “Ahlan Bil Urdun” platform, and provide the information and services needed to enhance the visitor experience.
