During a phone call, Safadi and Al Zayani reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the deep-rooted, historic fraternal ties between the two kingdoms across various fields, serving the interests of both countries and their peoples.
Addressing Regional Escalation
The two ministers also discussed the implications of the dangerous escalation in the region and the ongoing efforts to build upon the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. They emphasized the need to reach a sustainable solution that addresses all past causes of tension, while ensuring:
Respect for international law and state sovereignty.
Freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Furthermore, Safadi and Al Zayani reviewed several regional and international issues and the collective efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in the region.
