This came during an extensive meeting held at the Ministry, attended by the Secretary-General for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Abdul Aziz Thiyabat, the Secretary-General for Technical Affairs, Waseem Al-Adwan, as well as directors of public works from various governorates and relevant department heads. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the progress of projects and services, monitoring the readiness of directorates for emergencies, and discussing several vital infrastructure-related files.
Key Highlights of the Meeting:
"Hidden Shopper" Program: Abu El-Samen stressed the importance of taking the outputs of the "Hidden Shopper" program seriously, urging immediate action to address observations through clear corrective measures to improve service quality and citizen satisfaction.
Emergency Response Plans: The Minister called for the effective implementation of approved response plans, developed based on past performance evaluations, with a focus on identifying and addressing recurring infrastructure imbalances.
Field Readiness: He highlighted the need to enhance the readiness of personnel and machinery, intensify field tours, and improve coordination between directorates to ensure rapid response to reports and efficient handling of emergencies.
Modernization: The meeting discussed upgrading equipment, forming trained rapid-response field teams, and developing the reporting system and operations rooms to improve response speed and tracking accuracy.
Project Review and Decentralization:
The attendees reviewed the 2026 decentralization tenders and their completion rates, as well as the status of culverts and ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works. Emphasis was placed on identifying "hotspots" that require urgent intervention and implementing appropriate solutions.
