Jordan Introduces New Cameras to Monitor Environmental Violations
The Ministry of Environment announced that the number of violations related to illegal waste dumping reached 23,523 over the past six months.

Of these, 19,477 violations were recorded under Traffic Law No. 49 of 2008, and 4,046 violations under the 2020 Waste Management Framework Law, covering the period from July 28, 2025, to January 13, 2026.اضافة اعلان

To enhance monitoring, the ministry has begun activating cameras to detect sanitation violations in the capital and other municipalities. Plans include installing 50 cameras in Greater Amman, distributed as 30 on municipal vehicles and 20 on traffic enforcement vehicles, along with 11 cameras in Ghamdan Park and 250 cameras across other governorates.

The distribution of cameras by municipality includes:

15 cameras in Greater Salt

20 in Greater Irbid

20 in Greater Zarqa

10 in Bani Ubaid

15 in Al-Rusayfa

10 in Al-Jeeza

4 in Hasban

15 in Madaba

10 in Ramtha

The ministry also launched a unified complaint number (117119) for reporting any illegal waste dumping.

This initiative aims to reduce environmental violations and promote cleaner communities across Jordan.
