Jordan on Thursday condemned what it described as Iran’s repeated “blatant attacks” targeting Bahrain and Kuwait, saying they constitute a flagrant violation of the two countries’ sovereignty, threaten their security, stability and territorial integrity, represent a dangerous escalation, and amount to a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait, stressing its support for all measures the two countries take to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.
The statement came as the United States and Iran continued exchanging strikes, with Tehran launching attacks on sites across the region on Thursday amid an escalating dispute over control of the Strait of Hormuz, despite a memorandum of understanding reached in June aimed at ending the war.
As the latest round of fighting entered its sixth day, Tehran warned it would target regional infrastructure if Washington follows through on its threats to strike Iranian infrastructure.
