The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif by extremist Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, along with other extremists, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police. The ministry described these acts as blatant violations of international law and humanitarian law, a condemnable escalation, and an unacceptable provocation, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali affirmed the Kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued attacks by the extremist minister and the facilitation by the occupation police of repeated extremist incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif. These actions are considered a flagrant violation of the historical and legal status of the mosque, an attempt to divide it temporally and spatially, and a desecration of its sanctity.
Majali warned of the consequences of continuing these provocative and illegal violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, calling on Israel, as the occupying power, to halt such violations and all provocative acts by extremists in the Israeli government. He described these acts as part of the Israeli government’s extremist policy aimed at continuing dangerous escalation, unilateral illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, and violations of the sanctity of Jerusalem’s holy sites.
Majali reiterated that Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its full area of 144 dunams, is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims. The administration of Awqaf Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs, under the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sites, is the sole legal authority responsible for managing Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif and organizing entry to it.
