Due to Financial Crisis: UNRWA Reduces West Bank School Week to 4 Days
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Sunday a reduction in school days across the West Bank to four days a week instead of five until the end of the 2025–2026 academic year. This move is part of austerity measures implemented at the beginning of this year in response to a severe financial crisis facing the agency.اضافة اعلان

In a statement on its official website, the UN agency explained that the decision is part of a broader package of measures affecting its five fields of operation, aimed at ensuring the continued delivery of essential services to Palestine refugees.

The agency added that it has also decided to reduce staff working hours by 20%, including the education sector, while maintaining the minimum level of educational continuity.

UNRWA emphasized that these measures are temporary and time-bound until the end of the current year, stressing that it will continue its efforts to avoid any interruption in its vital services.
