AMMAN — The Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) on Tuesday announced they would form a
technical committee to investigate the cause of Friday’s blackout, adding that
it will request the malfunction files from the National Electric Power Company.
Jordanian
staff are sufficiently qualified to find out the reasons of the blackout and
avoid a future reoccurrence of it, without the need to outsource expensive
companies to tackle the issue, the JEA said.
A nationwide
power outage hit the country on Friday, knocking out power for more than five
hours.
