AMMAN — Around a million telecom services subscribers were affected by the nation-wide power outage, which lasted for about six hours on Friday, the sector regulator said.
Chief Commissioner of the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) Ghazi Al-Jbour said that all services were either interrupted or their quality was adversely affected, despite a contingency plan that was activated by the three providers: Zain, Orange and Umnia.
The official told Al-Ghad that TRC will evaluate the efficiency of this plan through discussions with the three companies to ensure that all telecom services will be sustained with the best quality during emergencies like Friday’s blackout.
