Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Friday condemned the continued and escalating settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, most recently the attacks in Qusra, in Nablus Governorate, and held Israel, as the occupying power, responsible for the attacks.

Ministry spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s absolute rejection of the condemned acts of terrorism that settlers continue to commit against Palestinians.
He said the attacks are a result and extension of the policies of Israel’s extremist government and come amid continued unlawful Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, which fuel extremism and violence against the Palestinian people and undermine prospects for achieving peace based on the two-state solution.
Al-Majali called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to halt settler terrorism, hold those responsible for crimes against Palestinians accountable, and ensure that they do not enjoy impunity.
He also called for the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He described this as the only path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
