Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi on Sunday, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.

The Egyptian presidency spokesperson said El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s firm and longstanding position in supporting efforts to restore stability in the region.
El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s hope that Iran would make every possible effort to de-escalate tensions and reach a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful settlement to the crisis, ensuring respect for the sovereignty of regional states and protecting their resources and interests.
The Egyptian president also stressed the “necessity of ending any attacks on Arab states,” in order to uphold the principles of good-neighborly relations and strengthen the historical and cultural ties connecting the peoples of the region.
