Objectives of the Bill
The draft law aims to enhance transparency and fairness in the relationship between insurance companies and citizens. Key protections for the insured include:

Mandatory Response Time: Compelling insurance companies to respond to requests within 10 days.

Fair Terms: Prohibiting the imposition of unfair or ambiguous conditions.

Economic Support: Stimulating investment and supporting the national economy by providing an advanced legislative environment.

Combating Malpractices: Addressing and criminalizing negative phenomena, such as the illegal "trading of accident reports" (locally known as "Krouka"), and imposing clear penalties.

Enhancing Trust and Legal Clarity
The bill seeks to bolster confidence in the insurance sector by achieving the principle of fair compensation. It ensures that contract terms are clear and simple, stipulating that any ambiguity in a contract shall be interpreted in favor of the insured.

Furthermore, the bill defines:

Mutual Obligations: The responsibilities of both parties to the insurance contract.

Termination Clauses: Legal provisions regarding the termination of a contract for justified reasons before its expiration and the resulting obligations for both the insurer and the insured.

Statutes of Limitations: The timeframe for the expiration of the right to hear lawsuits arising from insurance contracts, the circumstances under which this period is interrupted, and the specific dates upon which the right to file a claim emerges for the insured or third parties.

In a separate session on Monday, the Education and Youth Committee will discuss the Education and Human Resources Development Bill of 2026.
