First group of Queen Rania’s Ramadan umra mission departs Jordan

AMMAN (JNews) — The first group of Her Majesty Queen Rania’s mission to perform umra — the lesser Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca — has departed for Saudi Arabia today, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office. The mission consists of 500 women from across the Kingdom, including military personnel, those active in social service, beneficiaries of charity associations and civil society organizations, and a number of volunteers, among others. The duration of each group’s stay in Mecca will be four days and three nights.
