AMMAN — The
Amman Magistrates Court on Tuesday fined a director at a regulatory government
body JD3,000, having found him guilty of conflict of interest, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In its verdict, the court said the defendant, who also
worked as a consultant for the regulatory body’s general director, failed to
disclose a perceived conflict of interest related to the procurement of goods
subject to the oversight of his employer.
The ruling is open to appeal before a higher court.
