According to statistical data from the Jordan Chamber of Industry obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), industrial exports increased to JD5.17 billion during the period, compared with JD4.82 billion in the same period last year.

The chamber said the JD350 million increase reflects continued positive momentum in industrial exports and the sector’s ability to grow despite challenges and changes affecting regional and global trade.

The significance of the results extends beyond the overall export growth rate to the broader range of sectors and products contributing to it. Nine out of 10 industrial sectors recorded export growth, reflecting the diversity of Jordan’s production and export base and strengthening its ability to respond to fluctuations in external markets.

Chemical industries and cosmetics ranked first among industrial sectors in terms of export value during the first seven months of the year, reaching JD1.207 billion, compared with JD1.065 billion during the same period last year.

Exports of leather and garment industries reached JD1.064 billion, compared with JD1.032 billion in the same period of 2025.

According to statistical data prepared by the chamber’s Studies and Policies Department, exports of engineering, electrical and information technology industries reached JD881 million, compared with JD871 million during the same period last year.

Exports of pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies stood at JD355 million, compared with JD353 million during the same period last year, maintaining their export levels. Pharmaceutical preparations remained at JD352 million, while exports of optical, measuring, medical and surgical instruments recorded notable growth.

Exports of food, agricultural, livestock and supply industries rose from around JD543 million to JD619 million, while construction industries’ exports jumped from JD107 million to around JD173 million.

Exports of plastic and rubber industries increased from JD106 million to JD126 million during the same period, alongside growth in packaging, paper and cardboard, wood and furniture industries.

Mining industries were the only sector to record a decline in exports, although the decrease was limited. Exports fell to JD635 million during the period, compared with JD640 million in the same period last year.

The chamber said a detailed review of export commodities shows that the increase did not come from a single product or industrial activity, but rather from improved exports across a broad range of products, giving the growth greater significance in terms of its diversified sources.

Statistical data showed that exports of nitrogenous and chemical fertilizers rose by 11.9% during the same period, reaching around JD646 million. Exports of organic chemicals increased from JD26 million to JD77 million, representing growth of 194%, while exports of soap, washing, lubricating and polishing preparations rose by 11.9% to around JD184 million.

In the construction industries, growth during the first seven months was driven mainly by a 103% increase in iron and steel exports, which reached around JD83 million, while cement exports stood at JD70 million. Exports of articles made from stone, plaster, cement and mica increased by 89%.

Engineering industries recorded notable growth in several products. Exports of copper and related products rose by 81.4% to JD78 million, aluminum and related products reached JD115 million, while iron and steel articles reached around JD63 million.

Growth in food industry exports was spread across a broad range of products. Exports of meat and fish preparations increased by 27%, miscellaneous food preparations by 20%, and residues from food industries and prepared animal feed by 57%, in addition to growth in several other food products.

Leather and garment industries maintained their position among Jordan’s largest exporting sectors, driven mainly by exports of clothing and knitted garments, which rose from JD971 million to JD1.011 billion, an increase of 4%.

The limited decline in mining industry exports was mainly attributed to a 13% drop in crude phosphate exports, which fell to around JD277 million.

The chamber said the expansion of growth across most industrial sectors, together with the wide range of commodities contributing to higher exports, is an important indicator of the strength and diversity of Jordan’s industrial base. It also reduces the risks associated with relying on a single sector or product to drive export growth.

It noted that the JD350 million increase in export value highlights the industrial sector’s central role in boosting national exports, generating foreign currency and supporting economic growth, in addition to its direct and indirect impact on investment, employment and the development of local production chains.

The chamber said the performance also reflects the ability of Jordanian industrial products to strengthen their presence in foreign markets, stressing the importance of continuing to diversify export markets geographically, maintaining a presence in traditional markets while opening new ones. This would reduce the risks of concentration in specific markets and strengthen the ability of industrial exports to respond to changes in global demand, geopolitical conditions, and disruptions to trade and supply chains.

It added that Jordan’s diverse industrial base, product quality, export expertise and network of free trade agreements provide an important foundation for expanding the global presence of Jordanian products and reaching new markets and product segments in the coming period.

Maintaining this momentum requires continued efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of national products, reduce production, transportation and shipping costs, increase productivity, develop skills and technology, strengthen export support and promotion programs, make greater use of trade agreements, and attract high-value-added industrial investments.

The chamber also stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of industrial initiatives and projects under the Economic Modernisation Vision and sectoral strategies, contributing to deeper local value chains, increased domestic content and greater diversification of products and export markets.

The Jordan Chamber of Industry emphasized the need to build on the current growth to raise industrial exports to higher levels, expand the base of markets and products, increase local value added, and translate export growth into greater investment, job creation and sustainable economic growth.
