Jordan increased its medal tally at the 20th Asian Games – Nagoya 2026 to 11 medals, comprising two gold, three silver and six bronze medals, one day before the Games conclude. This marks the best medal haul in the history of Jordan’s participation in the Asian Games in terms of medal colors.اضافة اعلان

On Saturday, Jordanian national taekwondo athlete Fadia Al-Kharfan won the gold medal in the women’s under-57kg event, while teammates Zaid Mustafa and Mohammad Al-Adarba added two bronze medals.

Al-Kharfan secured the gold after defeating China’s Zhang Chulin in the final 2-1 to claim the under-57kg title.

Al-Kharfan began her campaign in the quarterfinals, defeating the Philippines’ Jassica Kanbal before overcoming Thailand’s Natkamon Wasana in the semifinals and then defeating Zhang Chulin in the final.

Secretary-General of the Jordan Olympic Committee Rana Al-Saeed presented Al-Kharfan with her gold medal during the medal ceremony.

In the under-68kg event, Zaid Mustafa won the bronze medal after defeating Afghanistan’s Hikmatullah Zain in the round of 16 and Mongolia’s Enkhbayar Gantulga in the quarterfinals, before losing to Iran’s Mehdi Haji in the semifinals.

Mohammad Al-Adarba also won bronze in the over-80kg event after defeating Japan’s Hidenori Ibata in the round of 16 and Kazakhstan’s Biebarys Kaplan in the quarterfinals, before losing to Iran’s Arian Salimi in the semifinals.

In the over-67kg event, national team athlete Rama Abu Al-Rub exited the competition in the quarterfinals after losing 2-0 to South Korea’s Song Dabin, following her victory over Qatar’s Noor Mohammad in the round of 16.

Jordan’s national taekwondo team has now collected five medals at the Nagoya Asian Games, including one gold and four bronze medals. This is the best medal tally achieved by Jordanian taekwondo in the history of its participation in the Asian Games.
