Court convicts hospital worker of squandering public resources, fines him JD23,000

AMMAN — A judicial body dealing with corruption cases at the Amman Magistrate Court, headed by Judge Udai Al-Farehat, convicted a staff member of a government hospital of squandering public resources, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

The court order him to pay a fine of JD23,000, which includes refunding the hospital with oxygen cylinders.

According to the charge sheet, the employee put several patients on oxygen cylinders during the COVID-19 pandemic, but he failed to document the used cylinders in the hospital’s records. It said the patients did not return the cylinders after they recovered, which resulted in financial loses to facility employing him.

The verdict can be appealed.
