Over the course of a week, activities were held in the Umm Hamat area, Moab District, targeting students in both boys’ and girls’ schools, as well as members of local associations. The sessions focused on reducing water loss, identifying leaks, overcoming obstacles, and checking water meters to achieve comprehensive water management as a community effort.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Ma’ayta, Advisor at the Ministry of Water, emphasized that the project involves a complete inspection of water networks across southern governorates and encourages citizen participation in checking household plumbing to safely and effectively reduce water loss nationwide.

Engineer Abeer Al-Eidi, Director of Water Loss at Karak Water Directorate, noted that four workshops were held at Umm Hamat schools and the local charity association, distributing brochures, water cups, and informational materials to encourage participation. Practical training sessions will begin on October 13 in collaboration with JICA representatives.
