Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), Dr. Rana Abdat, reaffirmed the Administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and efficiency of field monitoring and inspection activities, and to implement related regulatory plans and procedures.

According to a statement issued by the JFDA on Monday, Abdat, during her meeting with inspectors from the Food and Regional Directorates, highlighted the importance of cooperating with food establishment owners by providing the necessary awareness during field visits. She explained that the primary goal of inspections is to ensure the safety of food in circulation and protect consumer health.
She also called for the continued application of the highest standards governing field inspection, as well as the accurate and clear documentation of violations in line with the approved inspection model, thereby reinforcing transparency. Abdat further stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration with the Environmental Police and benefiting from their expertise in risk assessment.
The meeting was held to follow up on fieldwork, provide guidance to inspectors, and address the main challenges they encounter, with the aim of overcoming them to ensure the highest levels of performance efficiency and safeguard food security.
