AMMAN — The Customs Department announced that it, in cooperation with security agencies, blocked an attempt to smuggle drugs hidden in a car that was about to enter the Kingdom through the northern border, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The department said in a statement on Thursday that its officers at the Jaber border post suspected a private car and subjected it to an X-ray scan that showed that drugs were hidden in the vehicle's body.
The statement said that 90,000 narcotic pills were found in the car. The driver is now in the custody of the Anti-Narcotics Department for further investigations and legal action.
