The Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables is organising the event, with public and private sector participation.

The programme covers four areas. Food security sessions address regional agricultural integration and the effect of Gulf import policies. A financing strand looks at export finance, agricultural insurance and the role of banks in lending to farmers and exporters.

Certification sessions cover foreign market requirements, traceability and food safety standards. The logistics strand examines cross-border road transport, refrigerated and maritime shipping, and losses in transit.

The first day is given to policy discussion and the second to practical sessions, alongside an agricultural exhibition, bilateral meetings between producers and buyers, and workshops.

Mazen Hamarneh, president of the association, said the conference reflects the economic modernisation vision and the aim of establishing Jordan as a regional logistics centre for agricultural exports. Former transport ministers will take part in the logistics sessions, Hamarneh added.

Mohammed Khreis, chief executive of Jibril Investment Solutions Group, said sponsorship and partnership agreements have been signed with agricultural sector companies, including firms working in technology, seeds and laboratory services. International buyers from Europe and the Gulf are expected to attend.
