National Development Guide for Sharia Colleges (2026)
The Commission officially released the "National Development Guide for Sharia College Programs 2026" today, Tuesday. This specialized guide focuses on integrating digital literacy and specialized English language skills into Islamic Law (Sharia) curricula.

Key features of the new Sharia curriculum development:

Digital Integration: Incorporating digital skills relevant to the field of Sharia to bridge the gap between traditional religious studies and modern technology.

Specialized English: Adding credit hours for field-specific English language training. This is designed to enable students to communicate effectively with non-Arabic speakers and present the principles of Islam accurately to a global audience.

Professional Certification: Encouraging students and faculty to obtain accredited professional and "micro-credentials" in specialized areas to enhance their competencies.

Committee Oversight: A committee of academics from various Jordanian Sharia colleges led the review process to provide recommendations for faculty and student skill enhancement.

Balancing Tradition and Modernity
Dr. Al-Sarayrah emphasized that these measures create a balance between "Sharia authenticity" and "technical/digital modernity." He noted that many Sharia topics require advanced scientific methods for research, analysis, and verification, making digital empowerment essential for students.

Furthermore, he highlighted that as English is a global language, empowering Sharia specialists with it is a "pressing need" to help serve and convey these sciences to the world with clarity and proficiency.
