8 Airlines Resume Operations at Queen Alia International Airport After War-Induced Suspension
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Airport International Group (AIG), Alperos Hamzouq, stated on Wednesday that 8 airlines have resumed their flights through Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA). These carriers had previously suspended operations due to the repercussions of the ongoing war in the Middle East. Meanwhile, 21 other airlines are still waiting to resume their operations.اضافة اعلان

Hamzouq explained that the aviation sector has been significantly impacted, noting: "The negative impact is substantial for aircraft movement at QAIA and across the region in general." He added that the airport, like others in the region, suffered from airlines canceling their operational schedules and scheduled flights, in addition to the closure of certain stations or destinations.

He pointed out that these developments directly affected travel movement, leading to a "decrease in the number of passengers and flights." He highlighted that the decline in aircraft movement reached approximately 55% compared to the usual operational program.

In contrast, Hamzouq confirmed that operations within the airport remain stable, emphasizing the continuous readiness of the group in terms of both personnel and infrastructure.

Regarding the challenges that emerged at the beginning of the crisis, he noted they were centered on passenger mobility: "In the beginning, there were challenges concerning arriving or departing passengers, and most of these issues have been addressed." He clarified that the current challenge lies in the "shortage of flights and the low number of passengers."

He concluded by emphasizing that destinations in the Gulf countries are the most affected, given that a wide segment of Jordanian travelers relies heavily on them.
