This came during his meeting on Monday with members of the Executive Council of the Ajloun Governorate, in the presence of the Governor of Ajloun, Naif Al-Hedayat, and members of the Governorate Council. The meeting is part of a series of coordination sessions conducted by the DoS to enhance readiness and preparations for executing the 2026 General Census of Population and Housing.
Freihat pointed out that the actual enumeration phase of the census will launch on October 1st, noting that approximately 10,000 male and female teachers from the Ministry of Education will be enlisted to participate in implementing this stage.
He reviewed the progress of the ongoing counting and listing phase, revealing that the completion rate nationwide has reached 67.8% of buildings and 68.2% of "residential blocks" (enumeration areas). Meanwhile, the percentage of households wishing to utilize the self-enumeration service reached 21%.
He urged everyone to take advantage of the self-enumeration mechanism due to the time and effort it saves, noting that self-enumeration is being implemented for the first time in the history of censuses in the Kingdom.
Freihat indicated that field work is progressing according to the set schedules and in cooperation with various official entities in the governorate.
He stressed that the success of the census requires a genuine partnership among all parties, calling on citizens to cooperate with field researchers and provide them with the required data accurately, given its direct impact on ensuring the quality and precision of the results.
Furthermore, he confirmed that all collected data enjoys the highest levels of confidentiality and privacy and is protected under the provisions of the law. It may not be viewed or used except for statistical purposes, and no individual or personal information will be published under any circumstances.
He explained that citizens can easily verify the identity of field researchers, as each researcher carries an official identification card equipped with a QR Code that can be scanned to verify their credentials, and wears a vest bearing the census logo.
For his part, Al-Hedayat confirmed that the governorate will place all its capabilities at the service of this national project and will provide all forms of necessary support and facilitation to ensure the success of the census operations in the governorate. He stressed the importance of cooperation between all local bodies and citizens with the census teams to accomplish this mission perfectly.
He noted that the census forms a cornerstone for future developmental planning, and the resulting data will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of distributing services and developmental projects according to the needs of different governorates, directorates, and regions.
