The source said that this number represents nine percent of the targeted group, noting that the under-18 category is the main reason for the rise in recent COVID-19 cases.

The source said that the age group between 12 and 17 years will be targeted via emails in order to take the vaccine, adding that developing their immunity against the virus is important.

He said that children between 5 and 11 years are not the priority, but they will be targeted in the national vaccination campaign.

The source said that 244,000 people who registered on the vaccination platform and received the first dose, did not return to take their second, while the vaccination rates for non-Jordanians reached 30 percent.

According to the latest figures, four million people received the first dose and 3.5 million received the second dose, with a total of 7.5 million registered on the platform.
