COVID-19 positivity rate inching closer to six percent

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 1,723 new COVID-19 cases and 10 new deaths Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 11,038 and the total number of cases to 862,541.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 609 cases, while Zarqa recorded 123 cases. Irbid registered 322 cases, Balqa 116 cases, Karak recorded 89, Jerash recorded 60 cases, and Tafileh recorded 44. Madaba registered 70 cases, Aqaba 95, and Ajloun 63.

The ministry said in a statement that around 67 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 78 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 21,052 according to the ministry. Around 5.74 percent of the 30,035 COVID-19 tests conducted Sunday came back positive.
