1.7M students begin school, transfers & teacher appointments underway

AMMAN — On Sunday, approximately 1.7 million students are expected to enroll in schools under the purview of the Ministry of Education, UNRWA, and the Military Culture Agency around one million and seven hundred thousand male and female students are set to join schools under the Ministry of Education, the UNRWA, and the Directorate of Education and Military Culture.اضافة اعلان

School transfersAccording to the Ministry this group of students will be distributed across approximately 4,271 schools, with 4,062 of these schools falling under its jurisdiction, Hala News reported. As of Saturday morning 15,792, students have transferred from private to public schools, and 6,578 have moved from public to private schools. Student transfers will conclude after the second week of the academic year.

In addition, the Ministry has appointed 2,006 teachers, with an additional 247 expected to join this week. The Civil Service Bureau is conducting competitive exams to fill 2,700 vacancies in 2023. Notably, there have been 107,000 applications for positions in supplementary education, including 45,000 new applications and 62,000 updates. Among these, 4,750 are teachers for evening schools, and around 1,800 employees work in supplementary education camps.
