AMMAN — In a historic upset at the 2023 Bahrain Ministry of Interior Tennis Challenger in Manama, Jordan’s 19-year-old Abdullah Shelbayh defeated world number 79 Jason Kubler of Australia, becoming the first Jordanian player in tennis history to defeat a player ranked in the ATP's top 100. اضافة اعلان

Local media outlets reported that the match lasted for two hours and 50 minutes, with Shelbayh winning by two sets to one.

Ranked 399 in the world, Shelbayh's win marks a major milestone in his tennis career and showcases his potential as a rising star in the sport.

Shelbayh's triumph set him up for the semi-final matchup against Salvatore Caruso on Saturday.
