The average daily trading volume on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) during the period from December 14 to 18 stood at approximately JD 8.5 million, compared with JD 6.9 million the previous week, marking an increase of 22.2%. Total trading volume for the week reached around JD 42.3 million, up from JD 34.6 million in the prior week.اضافة اعلان

The number of shares traded during the week amounted to 20.8 million shares, executed through 16,790 transactions.

In terms of sectoral contribution to trading volume, the financial sector ranked first, recording JD 21.50 million, or 50.87% of total trading. The services sector came second with JD 10.56 million, accounting for 24.99%, followed by the industrial sector with JD 10.20 million, or 24.14%.

Regarding price levels, the general share price index rose to 3,482.8 points at the close of the week, compared with 3,418.8 points the previous week, an increase of 1.87%. Sector-wise, the financial sector index increased by 1.93%, the services sector index rose by 1.66%, and the industrial sector index climbed by 1.37%.

Comparing closing prices of the 128 companies whose shares were traded this week with their previous closes, 57 companies recorded price increases, while 34 companies saw declines.

The five top gainers during the week were: First Insurance, whose share price rose by 19.57%; Middle East and Gulf Insurance–Jordan, up by 14.29%; Real Estate Investment Portfolio, up by 11.02%; National Steel Industry, up by 10.53%; and Jordan International Investment, also up by 10.53%.

Meanwhile, the five biggest losers were: Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital, whose share price fell by 9.09%; Al-Daman for Investment, down by 7.77%; United Insurance, down by 7.38%; Nubar Trading and Investment, down by 6.80%; and Sabaek for Investment, down by 6.67%.
