According to a statement issued Monday, the decision grants a 20% discount on the building and land tax (property tax), education tax, and sanitation contribution fees for the current and previous years, provided that all outstanding dues for properties within the boundaries of municipalities and the Greater Amman Municipality are settled before the end of the year.

The decision also includes a full exemption from fines on accumulated property and education taxes from previous years, if paid before December 31, 2025. This aims to ease financial burdens on citizens and encourage them to settle their tax obligations.

Additionally, the decision allows for the installment of property taxes, education taxes, and sanitation contribution fees until the end of the year.

Taxpayers who have settled their dues between January 1, 2025, and the Cabinet decision issued on October 29 will be granted retroactive benefits. They will receive a 20% credit toward the 2026 property tax for the same property, in addition to the incentive discount stipulated by law.

The decision also raises the incentive discount for 2026 to 10%, up from 8%, for taxpayers who settle property taxes within the first two months of the year, in support of early payment.

Regarding assessment fees, returns, compensations, and road remnants, the decision grants a 25% discount on assessments and returns if paid before the end of 2025, as well as a 25% discount on the value of road remnants, with the option to pay in installments until year-end.

Furthermore, the decision allows for a 25% exemption for tenants of properties owned by municipalities and the Greater Amman Municipality, provided that rental dues are paid or scheduled in installments before the end of the year.

The Ministry affirmed that the decision aims to alleviate financial pressures on citizens, encourage the settlement of outstanding property obligations, uphold principles of fairness and social solidarity, and enable municipalities to continue delivering services efficiently.
