Eng. Philippe Mansour congratulated Prof. Dr. Malek Al-Sharairi on assuming his new position, wishing him success in leading the university toward further achievements. He emphasized that the partnership with Yarmouk University represents a real investment in the future of the Kingdom and its youth, noting that the Orange–Yarmouk Innovation Lab (OYIL), launched more than a decade ago, has empowered over 260 male and female students with digital and practical skills that prepare them to enter the job market confidently. This, he added, reflects Orange’s commitment to turning promises into reality and leaving a meaningful positive impact on society.
For his part, the University President, Prof. Dr. Malek Al-Sharairi, affirmed Yarmouk University’s continuous commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among its students, considering partnerships with the private sector as strategic enablers in achieving this vision. He expressed his appreciation for Orange’s role in supporting the Orange–Yarmouk Innovation Lab (OYIL), which has contributed to equipping hundreds of students with digital work methodologies and practical competencies. He noted that the success of such initiatives clearly demonstrates the value of collaboration between the university and the private sector in transforming ideas into solutions that benefit society and the economy. He added that the university seeks to expand the impact of these initiatives to reach a larger number of young people in Irbid and neighboring governorates, and is also exploring, with its partners, the possibility of establishing an office for the recruitment and hosting of international students to serve as a gateway for international cooperation, attract new talent, enrich the learning environment, increase exposure to opportunities, and support the university’s digital transformation and innovation journey.
At the end of the visit, the CEO and accompanying delegates took part in a discussion session with a group of students from the Orange–Yarmouk Innovation Lab (OYIL), during which the students presented their innovative projects that showcased their creativity and ability to develop digital solutions that support digital transformation and serve the community.
