Speaking at a press conference ahead of the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup final in Qatar, which kicks off on Thursday, Salami said the national team possesses qualities that help narrow the gap with Morocco in the final.
He added, “No one questions my love for Morocco or my pride in my Moroccan roots. I am a product of Moroccan football as both a player and a coach, and what I have achieved is what has brought me to this platform.” He noted that Moroccan-trained staff are increasingly prominent due to the attention they have received both within and outside Morocco.
Salami emphasized, “No one questions my honesty and dedication to my work. I am the captain of the Jordanian national team, and I am striving for the championship.” He also highlighted that reaching the final against Morocco was well-deserved and praised Morocco’s coach, Tarik Sektoui, as a personal friend and one of the best coaches in Morocco.
