In a press statement, the JFDA said its inspection and monitoring teams seized the entire quantity of jameed, originating from two neighboring countries, estimated at around 25 tons. The products were found stored under unsuitable sanitary conditions and showed clear signs of spoilage, including mold and discoloration.

The Administration added that the full quantity has been confiscated in preparation for destruction in accordance with established procedures, and that those in violation have been referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.

The JFDA urged citizens to purchase food products only from duly licensed establishments that are subject to regular inspection by the Administration. It also called on the public to contact the JFDA in case of any observations, inquiries, or complaints via the free complaints hotline (117114), email ([email protected]
