The Greater Amman Municipality announced the declaration of a moderate emergency status starting Monday evening to deal with the low-pressure system affecting the Kingdom.

The Municipality’s media spokesperson, Nasser Al-Rahamnneh, affirmed the readiness of GAM’s field teams to respond to any reports received by the Tlaa Al-Ali Emergency Operations Room, urging citizens to contact the Unified Call Center at 102 or 117180 in case they notice any issues.
Al-Rahamnneh called on citizens to exercise caution by staying away from valleys and low-lying areas, avoiding connecting rooftop rainwater gutters to sewage manholes to prevent street flooding, and refraining from indiscriminate waste disposal, which can block rainwater drainage systems.
He stressed the importance of checking submersible pumps in basements and commercial shops located below street level, and urged traders to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and basement floors.
Al-Rahamnneh also emphasized that contractors and owners of construction projects should promptly secure construction materials to prevent them from being washed away and directly causing blockages in rainwater drainage lines.
