Jordan's national basketball team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Asian Games, held in the Japanese city of Nagoya, today, Sunday.
Jordan's qualification came after finishing Group B in third place with 4 points, earned from a win over Qatar and losses to Chinese Taipei and Iran.

Jordan's advancement to the quarterfinals as one of the two best third-place teams among the three groups was confirmed following the conclusion of Group A and Group B's matches.
Jordan closed out its group-stage campaign today, Sunday, with an 81-68 loss to Iran.
Iran secured top spot in Group B with 5 points, edging out Chinese Taipei on head-to-head results, who finished second with the same tally, while Jordan finished third with 4 points, ahead of Qatar on head-to-head results, who finished fourth with the same number.
Jordan benefited from Group A's results, where South Korea and Japan secured their quarterfinal spots, while Saudi Arabia finished third in that group, ensuring Jordan came out ahead of them in the third-place team rankings and securing its spot in the next round.
Quarterfinal matchups will be determined by draw once the group stage is complete, with a unified combined ranking to be drawn up for the eight teams advancing from the three groups, then divided into four pots based on their standing.
Pot D will include the teams finishing 1st and 2nd, Pot E the teams finishing 3rd and 4th, Pot F the teams finishing 5th and 6th, and Pot G the teams finishing 7th and 8th.
Under the draw's rules, Pot D teams will face Pot G teams, while Pot E teams face Pot F teams, with no two teams that already met in the same group during the first round allowed to be drawn against each other again.
The quarterfinal matches will be held next Wednesday, with the semifinals set for Friday, while the basketball competition wraps up on September 20 with the final and the bronze medal match, one day after the Games' official opening ceremony.
