The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) recalled the performance of Asian teams in the 2026 World Cup.
FIFA stated that the Jordanian national team concluded its maiden World Cup appearance at the bottom of Group J following three consecutive defeats. However, the team delivered competitive performances in its narrow losses against Austria, Algeria, and eventual tournament runners-up Argentina. Remarkably, Jordan managed to score in all three matches, with Ali Olwan netting the first-ever Jordanian goal in World Cup history during a 3–1 defeat to Austria in the opening round.

Following the "Nashama's" exit, head coach Jamal Sellami stepped down from his position. Ezzaki Badou was subsequently appointed as the team's new manager just one day before the World Cup final.
The former goalkeeper previously captained Morocco at the 1986 FIFA World Cup, where his team suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to West Germany in the Round of 16. His first test with Jordan will come at the upcoming Asian Cup, where the Nashama look to build on their historic run to the final in the 2024 edition.
