Morocco national team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has excluded six players from the preliminary Atlas Lions squad as part of a restructuring plan following the team's 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, with preparations now underway for upcoming international competitions.

According to the Moroccan sports website Sport7, the players left out of the preliminary squad are Ayoub El Kaabi, Sofyan Amrabat, Amine Sebai, Youssef Belammari, Marouane Saâdane, and goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi.
The report added that more players could also be omitted, including Halhal and Amimouni.
The report further stated that Ouahbi intends to call up several new faces for the national team's training camp scheduled for the end of September, with the aim of evaluating fresh talent and expanding his tactical options.
