Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat revealed on Sunday the latest updates to the government’s Sanad application.
Speaking at a press conference, Smeirat said that nearly 6 million digital transactions are carried out monthly through the app, including inquiries and various procedural services, reflecting the growing reliance on Sanad and increasing trust in the digital government services it provides.

He noted that the number of monthly Sanad users has reached about 1.3 million, while the number of activated digital IDs has exceeded two million.
Smeirat emphasized that the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship continues to lead Jordan’s digital transformation efforts, stressing that digital transformation is no longer an option but a necessity to improve the quality and efficiency of government services and facilitate citizens’ access to them. This aligns with the Royal directives, the comprehensive modernization path of the Jordanian state, public sector and economic modernization programs, and the orientations of the National Council for Future Technology.
He explained that over the past years, the ministry has worked to build an integrated digital government ecosystem based on simplifying procedures, speeding up transactions, and enhancing trust in digital services—placing citizens at the heart of development and making services closer and easier to use.
“We believe that true digital transformation is measured by the impact citizens feel in their daily lives, and by how easy it is for them to access government services, as well as the quality and speed of service delivery,” Smeirat said.
He added that the Sanad app was designed to serve as the unified national platform for digital government services, providing a trusted gateway that enables citizens to access various services from a single place, securely and easily, without the need to visit or move between government entities.
Smeirat pointed out that Sanad has become one of the key pillars of digital transformation in Jordan, with around 6 million digital transactions conducted monthly, underscoring the app’s widespread adoption and growing confidence in digital government services.
Building on this success and in line with the directives of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, who has emphasized—through his close follow-up of the National Council for Future Technology—the importance of upgrading the Sanad app, Smeirat announced the launch of a new qualitative update. The update represents a significant leap in the digital government services experience, enhancing speed, ease of use, and service integration for citizens.
Smeirat had previously stated in December 2025 that work was underway to update the Sanad app, noting that access would become easier and that development was being carried out by a Jordanian team. At the time, he explained that an updated version had been uploaded for testing to accelerate service delivery.
By the end of 2025, the ministry announced that 80% of government services had been digitized, totaling 1,920 services, while nearly two million digital IDs had been activated through the Sanad app.
The government launched the Sanad application in February 2020 as part of the fifth executive package of the government’s economic program to support e-services and improve the business environment. Several updates were later introduced to address issues encountered during the app’s initial rollout.
