Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said on Telegram that two people were injured in Russian strikes on the Chernihiv region.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Telegram that its forces targeted a power station in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, as well as a facility in the surrounding area and another power station in the Khmelnytskyi region.

The ministry also said it targeted port infrastructure in Chornomorsk and a cargo ship bound for Odesa that was allegedly being used for military purposes.

The United States is pressing Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, which Moscow says are contributing to higher energy prices. The issue is sensitive for U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration amid its war with Iran and as next month’s congressional midterm elections approach.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview broadcast Sunday that Moscow should stop targeting energy infrastructure in exchange for Kyiv halting its attacks.

He added that, instead, the United States should allow the use of Starshield, the military version of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite system, over Russian territory to detect missile launch sites, or provide Ukraine with Patriot missiles.
